In Japanese business practices, there is an activity called “kaizen,” which is also considered a work philosophy. It’s a constantly ongoing process of changing the means for accomplishing a task in order to streamline, improve accuracy or improve speed of the work. In other words, it’s an activity to eliminate redundancy and make our lives easier so that we can concentrate our efforts on more important work. Employees in the field play a central role in it.
