A sporty English camp in the shadow of Ronneburg Castle
Those who like to be on the move will love the language camp in Ronneburg. Here we not only learn English in class, but also during the varied leisure program packed full of sport and action. A highlight of the camp is the castle tour: together we explore the well-preserved Ronneburg Castle built in 13th century.
Ronneburg holiday camp: language training according to the Berlitz method
"In English, please..." is our Berlitz language camp motto. During the lessons as well as the leisure program, kids and teens will learn to, above all, speak freely and fluently. English is the official camp language. That way, kids can automatically perfect their pronunciation and expand their vocabulary.
Our Ronneburg language camp includes:
- Lessons in the mornings (4 x 45 minutes five days a week) and
- Encouragement to speak in small learning groups.
We will split the kids into small groups according to their language level. Kids with no previous knowledge will learn to communicate in everyday situations. Kids who already speak English can deepen their knowledge and learn to use the language practically.
Kids will be called on to be creative: playful learning methods, such as debates, roleplaying, or creating a camp magazine, ensure that learning is lots of fun.
Learning can be fun: fun and action at the Ronneburg holiday camp
At Ronneburg language camp, our motto is "learning by doing". After the morning language classes, we continue speaking in the foreign language. Together, we get to do a whole bunch of great activities: scavenger hunts, excursions, and exciting team challenges.
Our program is versatile and fun. We only use German for safety instructions or in emergency situations.
Afternoons are filled with lots of action, no matter the weather
Whether it’s sunny, windy or rainy: there’s always something going on at the Ronneburg holiday camp in the afternoons: those who like sports can let off steam by playing volleyball or soccer. Big and small artists alike can make clothes or friendship bracelets. Here’s an example of activities, depending on the location and season:
- Playing sports, for example gymnastics, ball games, and climbing
- Tasting typical local food together,
- Designing new board games and trying them out with friends, or
- Shooting videos and watching them together.
Evenings together round the campfire or indoors
After a day packed full of fun and action, we make ourselves comfortable. Firstly, we eat dinner together, then we warm up round the campfire, have a quiz night, or a camp party – depending on the mood and the weather. Evening activities may include:
- Toasting marshmallows and baking campfire bread over the campfire,
- Hosting music competitions and game nights,
- Spending free time with friends new and old.
Important note: The offered activities are depending on the weather, date, and availability – therefore the program may vary.

Language camp in Ronneburg: in the heart of Hesse
Our accommodation is located in the heart of Hesse in the small town of Ronneburg, around 40 minutes by car northeast of Frankfurt. The location is also very easy to reach from Hanau. The pretty village is named after Ronneburg Castle, which sits enthroned on a hill above the community. It was built in the 13th century, then enlarged and renovated 300 years later. The imposing castle complex is still well-preserved to this day.

Additional information
At our Ronneburg language camp, your kids will not only learn English, but above all, feel completely comfortable. This is ensured by our experienced counselors who are there for the kids round the clock. In addition to the lessons in the mornings, they organize our varied afternoon and evening program.
In accordance with our Berlitz concept of "learning by speaking", all camp counselors and kids will speak in the foreign language, all day long. Our mission: to make learning languages fun and enjoyable for kids.
At our camps, we make sure our participants get the food they need. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Depending on the program, there is a hot lunch or a packed lunch for the day.
Please let us know before booking if we need to be aware of any allergies, intolerances, or dietary issues. Kids should also bring their own refillable water bottle.
What to expect on the day of arrival: On the first day, parents should bring their kids to camp according to the time mentioned in the travel information (send to all participants before camp starts). After check-in, our camp team will be able to answer any remaining questions at the parents’ welcome session. Afterwards, all kids will complete a short placement (written and oral). Our welcome package ensures kids are more than ready to start off their camp week.
All important departure information: After a joint farewell with both counselors and all participants, parents will be able to pick up their kids on the day of departure. You will find the exact pick-up time in the travel documents we send out before the camp starts. Please arrive on time, as the Berlitz team will also be departing. We will then send you all the camp documents and a certificate of participation.
Then take a look at our kids camp FAQ page where we have gathered further information.
We will also send you further details regarding the pack list, arrival and departure etc. by e-mail after your booking.
