Language camp Jever: nature and adventure in East Friesland
Speak English every day and get to know the special charm of East Friesland: At Sprachcamp Jever, holidays become an unforgettable adventure. Together, we will discover the multifaceted old town of Jever and the unique nature of the Wadden Sea. Team games, sports, and other fun activities ensure that we never get bored at the accommodation either.

Learning English in Jever according to the Berlitz method
At our Jever language camp, everything revolves around the foreign language. We'll be speaking as much English as possible - both during lessons and the leisure program. Kids can expect the following:
- "Learning by speaking" in small groups with a qualified counselor,
- 4 x 45-minute classes five camp days a week.
The core focus of our Berlitz method is to use the foreign language as much as possible. We do this primarily through play: for example, by having the kids create a camp diary, play language games, or work on projects.
At our Jever language camp, we aim to give kids the confidence and self-assurance they need to speak English in a group setting. Therefore, we make sure that the learning groups are assigned according to age and ability level. Friendships often develop this way, and many kids can't wait to see their new friends again at another camp the following year.

Excitement, fun, and action: unforgettable experiences at Jever language camp
Language lessons are done for the day, but the learning is far from over: our afternoons at the Jever holiday camp are colorful and exciting. And along the way, kids will continue to practice the foreign language in a fun way – during sports, when we do crafts together or let off steam doing creative activities. Our camp director can also speak German, for example when it comes to giving safety or other important instructions.
Fun and Action in the afternoon
At the Jever holiday camp, kids can make the most of everything on hand and try out a whole bunch of exciting activities. Whether it's a gymnastics class or a volleyball game, making jewelry, or designing T-shirts: this is how we make vacations super fun! What exactly do we do? It depends on the weather and the time of year. But there's always plenty of fun and action.
For example, the program could include:
- Sports, fun, and games, such as basketball, soccer, or open-air pool,
- Excursion to seal banks and animal watching,
- Excursion to Wilhelmshaven, the largest city in the region,
- Exciting team challenges and quizzes,
- Doing crafts or learning all about makeup,
- Shooting videos and finding out about social media together, or
- Learning songs in the foreign language.
The exciting day ends for participants of our Day Camps with afternoon activities at 5.30 p.m. But don’t worry: The next day directly starts at 8.45 a.m. with language training and varied activities.
Fun and action even after sunset
In the evening, kids can also enjoy great new experiences and play with friends new and old. If it's nice out, we'll have a campfire. Otherwise, we'll chill inside and maybe watch a movie. Here is a sample of our program, depending on the location and season:
- Hosting fun quizzes and music contests,
- Organizing camp parties, or
- Game nights and story reading.
Important note: The offered activities are depending on the weather, date, and availability – therefore the program may vary.

Welcome to Jever: this is where we'll be staying
Jugendherberge Jever, Dr.-Fritz-Blume-Weg 4, 26441 Jever
Great in any weather: Jever youth hostel
It's like a small village in the countryside: Jever Youth Hostel consists of several bungalows and residential buildings with a central "village square." Outside, there is plenty of space to play and run around. Even if the weather gets "really Frisian," it will not be boring here. The youth hostel has an indoor playground with ball pool and slide.
If you like it quieter, you can borrow a board game. Or how about a round of foosball or billiards? In the evening, girls and boys rest separately in cozy shared rooms.
Great location: Jever in East Friesland
Lighthouses, windmills, castles, heath and moor: Jever is located in the middle of East Friesland and is the perfect starting point for tours in the area and to the Wadden Sea. The city itself, about 45 minutes north of Oldenburg, has a lot to offer: for example, the historic old town, the imposing castle and the magical carillon at the historic "Hof von Oldenburg."

Additional information
At our Jever language camp, everything revolves around the kids and teens – and around English. Our qualified counselors are there for the kids round the clock and encourage them to speak English the entire time: in line with our motto of "learning by speaking". From the varied series of lessons in the mornings to sports and creative activities in the afternoons and evenings.
On the day of arrival, kids and teens will start off with a dinner together. On all other camp days, it's three meals a day – depending on the daily program, kids will receive either a hot meal or a packed lunch to go. Important: Kids should bring their own reusable water bottle so that they can fill it up in between meals.
Please contact our team prior to booking if your child requires a special diet for religious or other reasons.
Check-in and placement: On the first day, you will arrive at the camp with your kids at the time mentioned in the travel information (send to all participants before camp starts). After check-in, all Berlitz team members and participants will be able to get acquainted and ask questions during a Q&A session. This will be followed by a short placement, both written and oral, for the kids.
Important departure info: After check-out on the last morning at camp, all counselors and participants will say goodbye to each other. Parents will be informed what time they can pick up their kids well in advance and prior to the start of camp. We will send you all the camp documents, together with the camp magazine and certificate of participation, afterwards.
Then take a look at our kids camp FAQ page where we have gathered further information.
We will also send you further details regarding the pack list, arrival and departure etc. by e-mail after your booking.
