Congratulations, you’ve been invited to interview for an instructor role with Berlitz! The content of this site is designed to help you prepare for an interview with our recruiting team.
Before the Interview
✔ Confirm the invite once you get it (day and time zone). If something comes up, let us know so we can reschedule!
✔ Do your homework on Berlitz and come up with 1 or 2 questions to ask during the interview.
✔ Microsoft Teams and Newrow are the primary platforms used to conduct interviews. It is recommended that you download and Install 'Microsoft Teams' on your computer and ensure your camera, microphone and screen sharing capabilities are operational. This will avoid any last-minute technical issues that might cause a delay in your joining the meeting.
✔ Update your internet browsers to the newest version possible. Chrome works best with our platforms.
✔ Make sure you identify a quiet workplace and a neutral background.
During the Interview
✅ Do
- Arrive at least 5 minutes early. This will give you enough time to fix any last-minute issues.
- Dress appropriately. Business casual is the appropriate dress code for our interviews. Avoid wearing pajamas and taking interviews from your bed.
- Join through the computer/ laptop, Internet connection, and location you will be using to deliver your lessons.
- Have a positive attitude! Experience and education are important, but attitude is everything!
❌ Don't
- Join from public places like café's. As you can imagine this can be very distracting.
- Join from a cellular device.
- Don’t be nervous! All of our recruiters were instructors at one point, so they know what it takes. Just be yourself!
Listed below are the technical requirements to become an instructor with Berlitz. In the interview you may be required to review your systems capabilities to ensure they meet the requirements. If your system does not meet these requirements, you will not be able to proceed.
- A minimum of 5 Mbps download speed / 2 Mbps upload speed.
- A stable wired connection to the internet (Wi-Fi is not sufficient).
- A PC or laptop running Windows 10 or higher, or macOS 11 or higher (Linux does not support our applications)
- A USB headset and a camera.
- For those living in areas where load shedding occurs, it is required to have a backup system to support your devices.
- At least 2 GHz of base processing speed and RAM equal or above 4096 MB (4GB)
